Begin with three nights in Kuala Lumpur, the capital of Malaysia. During your private touring, see highlights such as colonial-era sites around Merdeka Square, the impressive Masjid Jamek mosque and the landmark PETRONAS Twin Towers. Explore neighborhoods such as Little India and Chinatown, and visit local food and crafts markets.
You may choose to visit the Lake Gardens, a lush park in the city center, to see exotic birds, butterflies and orchids. Also opt to visit Batu Caves, a richly decorated Hindu shrine inside natural caverns. Or, tour one of KL’s excellent museums, such as the Islamic Arts Museum or National Museum.
Take a one-day excursion to Malacca, one of the most important historical towns in Malaysia and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Formerly Malacca was ruled by the Portuguese, Dutch, and lastly the British, over a period of 400 years. Tour the historical sites such as Cheng Hoon Teng Temple - the oldest functioning Chinese Temple in Malaysia, Kapitan Kling Mosque, Jonker's Street (Antique Row), Baba and Nyonya Museum, Stadhuys Building, Malacca Clock Tower, Christ Church and the famous Porta de Santiago- the Portuguese Fortress Porta de Santiago built in 1511, and St. Paul’s Church where St. Francis Xavier was once buried and much more.
Continue to the island of Penang for two nights. Visit Georgetown, a charming UNESCO World Heritage Site of colonial-era architecture and traditional shop houses. Visit other island highlights such as Penang Botanic Gardens, sample Penang’s famous local cuisine, and take the funicular railway up Penang Hill for panoramic views. You might like to visit a food market with a local chef followed by a private cooking lesson .
Enjoy the colonial feel and architecture of the Eastern and Oriental Hotel, or it’s new luxury Victoria Annex for a taste of Colonial atmosphere and luxury.
Next, spend three nights at an exclusive resort on the island of Langkawi, a tropical oasis in the Andaman Sea. Enjoy the beach, or take advantage of the facilities at your luxury resort, such as sea kayaks and sailboats. One day, a private boat charter will be arranged for a wildlife excursion with an island naturalist to see the rich and diverse wildlife of the native mangrove or opt for an afternoon of island hopping.
Experience the Langkawi Cable Car located in the Oriental Village, the clear bubble shaped cable car takes the 2.2km ride up the mountainside on a 42-degree incline. Gunung Macincang at 708 meters offers a spectacular view. A walking trek from Station one, uphill to Station two has been carved through the vegetation allows a refreshing walk through the forest. After the mountain visit, pass by Black Sand Beach discover an unusual beach with black sand and end up with visit to the Handicraft Center of Langkawi.
Additional touring and excursions can be arranged including diving or snorkeling activities, golfing, nature hikes, night market visits, and cultural touring across the island.
This tour can be extended to include additional destinations in Malaysia, such as the Cameron Highlands, or Borneo, as well as in nearby countries such as Singapore and Thailand.
